Regarding VACCINE ALLERGIC REACTIONS, most pets respond well to vaccines. VACCINE-SIDE EFFECTS are possible after each VACCINATION, but the risk should be weighed against the many benefits and protection of your PET and your family from deadly infectious diseases.
Post-vaccination side effects that may occur are usually mild and occur a few hours after VACCINATION. Possible side effects are swelling and soreness at the injection site, mild fever, and decreased appetite and activity. If the signs last longer than 24-48 hours, you must go to the vet. After intranasal vaccination, sneezing, mild cough, and runny nose may be observed 2 to 5 days after vaccination.
An ALLERGIC REACTION AFTER VACCINATION is a serious side effect that occurs a few minutes to a few hours after VACCINATION and requires urgent veterinary intervention. Symptoms include severe vomiting and diarrhea, lumps on the skin, difficulty breathing and swelling of the snout, face, neck, and around the eyes, and collapse. A hard painless lump may also form at the injection site that will disappear after a few weeks.
The vaccination schedule for each PET is determined by the veterinarian because it depends on the geographical area where the animal lives and its way of life. It is important that the owner follows the instructions completely and does not miss VACCINATIONS.
